We spent this summer in staffrooms and conference halls – with teachers in Sweden and Scotland, with school leaders in South Australia, and with more than 25 independent schools in New Jersey. Three continents, different systems, same question coming up again and again.
It’s no longer whether students should use AI. It’s the harder one underneath: when should they not? Some moments need to stay protected, not only to assess what a student knows, but to help them build the skill in the first place.
A phrase from one of those conversations stuck with us: human in the lead. It’s a good description of what we’re building towards. Protecting a moment means controlling the room it happens in, not only during the exam, but before and after.
Here’s what’s new
Set up accessibility support in advance
Until now, individual support tools had to be assigned once the exam was already running — while you were admitting students and settling the room. You can now assign the right tools to specific students beforehand, reducing stress and making sure the right support is in place.

Screen recording now works in high-security mode
Screen recording helps you review what happened after an exam, and is now available in high-security mode.
