Exam.net is an online assessment platform that helps teachers and school staff in New Zealand create, conduct and mark exams. Our platform is built for all types of assessments, from everyday formative assessments to Level 2 and 3 external exams.
In recent years NZQA has driven the digital transformation in school and part of that is the NCEA Online initiative, moving the majority of the assessments to be conducted online. Exam.net has worked closely with New Zealand schools to make our platform built for the realities of New Zealand classrooms.
Prevent the use of ChatGPT and other AI tools
Ensure authenticity and originality of the student’s work by conducting assessments in Exam.net’s secure environment. We give you the flexibility of choosing between 3 different security levels, from conducting exams via a browser for open book exams and exit tickets to using our native applications for a completely locked down experience.
Exam.net meeting data anonymization requirements of NZQA
Exam.net is compliant with NZQA requirements around anonymization to ensure fair marking. When submitting an external NCEA exam into the NZQA portal that was conducted on Exam.net, all personal information except the students’ NSN (National Student Number) will be removed.
Exam.net is helping over 150 schools and 2500 teachers across New Zealand to have an efficient, secure and smooth examination process.
Many Level 2 and 3 assessments are conducted over multiple sessions. Exam.net has an easy solution for pausing an exam and reentering it on several occasions. Read more about how this works here.
Cater to Special Assessment Conditions
NZQA provides Special Assessment Conditions (SAC) for both internal and external exams to meet a range of physical, emotional, sensory, medical, and learning needs. Exam.net has a range of assessment capabilities, such as text-to-speech, a dyslexia font option and many more, that you can set for students on an individual level.
We will definitely explore Exam.net’s potential in creating Assessment for Learning activities to give quick and effective formative feedback.
You can prepare your students for their external online assessments by conducting internal assessments and practising old Literacy/Numeracy exams in Exam.net. This will prepare students for their external end-of-year exams which must be conducted in NZQA’s Assessment Master.
Reduce stress before and during the exam
NZQA requires students to disable notifications and screensavers during exams conducted digitally. By using Exam.net’s high security mode, this is automatically taken care of which reduces stress for teachers and students in an already anxious situation!
